The Board of the Ethical Society of Police (E.S.O.P.) believes the great majority of officers within the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) and around the world behave in a manner befitting of officers. However, when we as officers disregard internal policies and the laws we’ve sworn to uphold we must be held accountable. We aren’t above the law. 

The board of the E.S.O.P. believes the case against former SLMPD Officer, Jason Stockley warrants a conviction, because of physical evidence, circumstantial evidence, questionable tactics, and numerous violations of SLMPD policies/procedures.

About Us

The Ethical Society of Police was founded by several African American Officers in 1972 who were facing racism within the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. These brave Officers also founded the ESOP to bridge the gap in communication between the community and SLMPD. The ESOP strives to be the voice of equality within SLMPD.

Our Mission

The mission of the Ethical Society of Police, (ESOP), is to bridge the gap in communication between the Police Department and our community. We are the seekers of justice within our Department and for our community. We are the voice of the voiceless and the conscience of our Police Department. 

Our Goals

  • Improve the relationship between the community and the police department.
  • Improve the professional status for minority civilians and police officers; individually and collectively.
  • Employ more minorities with law enforcement agencies.
  • Develop policies and programs to reduce crime.
  • Maintain a greater degree of professionalism in law enforcement.

President PhotoWelcome to the Ethical Society of Police, Genesis. The Board of the E.S.O.P. added 'Genesis' to the name of the E.S.O.P. to signify change. It's a new beginning for us and our membership. The E.S.O.P. is comprised of both Civilian and Commissioned Employees with the City of St. Louis. The E.S.O.P. is community driven. We seek equality within our community and Police Department. You can often find our members serving our community in some manner. It's simply, what we do. What we love.
